    Bee Prepared: Sustainable Beekeeping

    The Bee Prepared all day workshop will once again be presented by the Will County Beekeepers Association. A full day of workshops will be offered for all levels of experience. Beginning Beekeeping track will be presented for anyone who wants to get started keeping bees or is just curious what it’s all about. If you are interested in getting started with honey bees or know someone who is, this is your chance to find out how to get started. Topics for experienced beekeepers include honey bee anatomy, swarm control, management for increased honey production, assembling hives, reading the frames, rendering wax from the hive, mead making, bees wax use in art, and many more.

    Keynote Speakers: Dr. Meghan Milbrath and David Burns

    Workshop speakers: Meghan Milbrath, David Burns, Jim Lindau (Beginner Track), Matt Laforge (Assembling hives and Honey production), Jolanta Soares (Bees wax in art), Andrew Connor (A Tour of the Bee Colony), and more!

    Panel discussion: Tried and True Methods to Sustain Bees throughout the Year

    Vendors available all day: Beekeeping Supplies, T-shirts, Beekeeping Books, Products of the Hive, Beeswax Artwork, and much more!
